that's why i just say Konichiwa all the time...when i'm talking to my friends who don't speak japanese i like to mess around with them and say Konichiwa Baka. they're always like"What did you just say?" but one time i did that to one of my friends and a random person came up to me and started cussin me out in japanese...

Konichiwa =hello,good day.Only use this word after 9:00 am if you don't it is considered bad grammer.
Ohayo (gozaimasu) =good morning (Only use ohyao without gozaimasu when you are best friends with whoever you are talking to)
Konbanwa=good evening,NOT good night
Oyasumi nasai=good night,you can leave the "O" out,the "o" adds politeness.
